What Benjamin Charlier doesn't like about A'thai:
Two days ago I booked this restaurant online for tonight specially for my friends coming all the way from Poland for a visit. Good food and very friendly staff. White rice is free but for fried rice you pay €12 as a side dish. A bit cold inside the restaurant.
Good beers but staff was very busy and toke some time to get refills.

Luckily the Vietnamese restaurant next door had a free table, which was not so obvious on a Saturday evening with winter market around and first weekend of sales in the city (plenty of people around).
An utterly disappointing experience. It started with the waitress telling us that the drinks we wanted were out, just to see her colleague bringing in a new crate 3 minutes later. Once the starters arrived, she managed to spill sauce on the table (without even noticing it) and brought a wrong starter. But alas, at least the starters tasted good (although there was no trace of the coriander explicitly mentioned on the menu) and corresponded to the spicynes levels on the menu (one pepper). With the main plates came the real disappointment. We had ordered three chilies with a spicynes rating of 2 and 3 peppers respectively. Well, the starters were a lot spicier. As for the quality of the curries: it were more or less coconut soups with a little bit of curry paste and some chopped vegetables (cucumber! among these). No trace of the interplay between sweetness, acidity, saltiness and spicynes you expect from authentic Thai food it was simply sweet. Not to mention the audacity to put only 3 little cubes of tofu into the whole dish. To round up the experience, we had to find out that a medium bowl of sticky rice seems to be regarded as sufficient for three people. The second bowl of was charged extra. tl;dr: An unauthentic, overpriced experience with poorly prepared dishes an lousy service.
