Pensativo House - Antigua Guatemala

I stayed here two years ago with my sister and the service was great. The staff was very attentive and the room we were assigned was very attractive. We were also received with mojitos upon arrival. This time around there were no mojitos which I guess is not a mandatory thing but what really surprised me was the inattentive staff at the restaurant, you have to hound down the waitstaff to get anything. The restaurant staff was focused on the party by the poolside. There was a lot of noise and parties during both times I stayed but I don’t mind it since this is normal for Antigua on Saturdays and events are only held during the daytime. What I do mind is the staff being only focused on the parties instead of the hotel guests. Another thing that I observed is that my room during my recent stay was small, dark and unimpressive for the price $200+ . While the first time I stayed the room had very nice decor, was well lit and a large bathroom. I would not stay here again since the service is no longer on par with the price.

Great place with very friendly staff. Non Spanish speakers, and they were amazing. Gave us cookies everyday as well!

The staff members were very attentive, friendly and always ready to assist our requests. One of the highlights was dining at the hotel’s restaurant, it was a gastronomic journey through the best of Guatemalan cuisine. Great location and offers a blend of luxury, comfort and personalized service.

The hotel is absolutely amazing! The design is so well done, the food was fantastic, great location and so was the customer service. The rooms however, were a bit smaller than I expected and I think it was also a bit overpriced. Thank you for amazingly hospitality

I cannot exprese how comfortable I felt during my stay at this hotel. I could definitely call it my second home.
