The food at this restaurant is excellent, offering authentic Guatemalan cuisine. The atmosphere is lovely, especially at the location on 5th Street (there are a total of 4 locations, I believe). I highly recommend trying the tree of elements on the menu at El Comal de los Recados. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Fonda De La Calle Real:
The staff seems to think that if you look like you are not latin you can afford to eat here. Staff had me sit and wait while someone European was able to just walk up. I heard the host say they had been earlier however they were not on any list. I was on waiting list!! These two ladies just walked in!!! I guess they might of thought I do not understand Spanish. Qua sabroso. The most authentic restaurant in the city. A bit expensive, but delicious.
Tasty food and a nice atmosphere. I had frijoles blanco con costilla de marron and it was super delicious.
Decent Guatemalan cuisine. As a fellow tourist, I encourage you to try this restaurant or similar. Guatemalan is one cuisine you likely won't have access to when you back home
This is a cool and quiet place, where you can breathe tradition. Love it
