This was an accidental find on the corner of the street on Antibes old town. If the slightly doctored photos are anything to go by it 's been here for many years. The facade shouldn 't put you off as it looks a little basic and 'cheap cafe ' like because the food is very good and includes plenty of variety. I had the vegan burger a few different vegan/veggie options are available and it was very well put together wit... View all feedback.
What Karlie Ferry doesn't like about Felix Cafe:
We did not want a meal as we wanted to see as much of Antibes as we could in a short time; but we did want to sit down. Eventually we found this café after quite a long walk around. There were lots of sandwich places but where could we also sit and have a drink as well? The service was excellent by a young intelligent waiter who spoke good English. The sandwiches in the usual white baguettes were good enough though th... View all feedback.
We had the set menu for two courses @ 16€/ head. My wife had a fish course which was succulent, tasty and very well presented with ratatouille and rice. I had the Lasagne as the local man next to us, who appeared a regular, had it served up and it looked delicious, not disappointed. The house wine was excellent and we had Glacon provided. I actually saw the guy on the next table put ice in his red wine. It was a very hot day, (30c+) My wife had an apricot tart and I had creme brûlée, both excellent. Overall a very reasonably priced meal in a very expensive locale!
So we were walking down the streets of old town in Antibes around lunch time and saw this cafe serving Italian cuisine with a 4 and a half star rating on trip advisor. With a hungry 8 year old and considering the good rating, we decided to take a table. The server, a young man, noticing we were sitting on the cafe/bar side told us to take a table on the other side and we did as we were told. When he came to put the mats on the table, my 8 year old excitedly asked him the wifi password and the man rudely replied to the little boy "I'll come back with it". My son was still ok, as long as he was getting the wifi password. He then came back with the menu and that's when my husband asked him another "offending" question. My husband wanted to know which pizza he had served to the table next to us as he liked it and wanted the same pizza. For some strange reason, the server was really offended this time and his exact response verbatim was : "I can tell you what pizza it is just by seeing! We have so many pizzas!. You look at the menu and tell me which one you want." By this time, we realized the guy was either not happy with his job or he just had some personal problem going on in his life and it was definitely affecting his work. Within the next two minutes, we got off the table and started to leave and the Paterson of course didn't seem to be bothered and he goes on to say: "ok, you don't want? Ok, bye!" So neither did we get lunch nor did we get our wifi password and the idea of a service worthy of a four star rating seemed to be far fetched. I would definitely never go back to this place ever again. After this "ordeal", we went to La Galerie, where we were greeted by happy smiling faces with excellent service and good food of course!
Super delicious lunch of beef carpaccio salad with wonderful dressing and heaps of rocket! Thoughtful, friendly service, and very reasonable rosé.
We had a friendly lunch with good food and happy service. The carpaccio and salad were dish of the day and really good
Good coffee and service de on the corner of a busy street watching the world go by. Nice view of the port through the ancient arch.
