A very nice and elegant restaurant on the beach in Juan le Pins. The food is terrific as is the staff. Will be back!
This place used to be one of the restaurants we always have wanted to visit during our numerous stays in Juan les Pins over the last 9 years. The restaurant recently changed owners and menu and the food is a huge disappointment. We will not go there again. Stay away!
I came here with my twin brother as a joint celebration for the final night of our short trip, celebrating our 50th birthday. Positives first… amazing setting. The restaurant is right on the beautiful beach so an evening meal with the sun setting was gorgeous. The maitre D was very attentive, took us to our table. She was very welcoming and professional. The food was amazing quality but issues below! Now the negatives… the other waiters were not so polite or professional and one gentleman had a persistent cough around us. The €130 piece of fresh caught turbot for two) was presented before and after baking, filleted and then brought to us on a plate for us to add the side dishes/sauce ourselves. While eating the fish which was delicious), I discovered one bone, another bone and in the end 5 bones. My brother also experienced a similar amount of bones. We should’ve sent this back but decided not to. When the unprofessional) waiter cleared our table for all the bones to see) there was no comment or questions about how our meal was. Just taken away. I was disappointed by their lack of care, unprofessionalism or concern so called the manager over to discuss it. He was apologetic to begin with and said that 1 bone is bad enough and 5 was unacceptable but thanked us for pointing this out so that they could inform the team to stop this from happening again. They appreciate feedback like this. We then received the bill in full for €215 with no deduction or further comment. If i had returned the fish at the cost to the restaurant of €130), which I would’ve been well within my rights, this would have been very costly for them!! So, I called the manager over for a second time. This time he was not so understanding and rather abrupt. He then returned the bill with the 2 side dishes removed €18). We paid the balance with no tip due to the poor overall service and handling of the situation. In hindsight, we should have refused to pay for one part of the fish as there was no issue with the side dishes). This just seemed like a quick and cheap way of dealing with us and the situation. This is such a shame as if all was ok, it would have been an amazing experience and worth 5 full stars but it has left a sour taste in my mouth. See photos.
We were lucky we had booked a table here earlier in our stay as on the evening we went it was extremely busy and they were turning people away. We had eaten here a few years back when we were last in the area, and it was still as good as we remembered. The staff are attentive and friendly. Here we both had the rockfish soup four our starters and then a slow cooked lamb and the beef as our mains. All accompanied by a nice bottle of Chablis. I am glad I saved room for a sweet as their chocolate cake was very tasty. I recommend you visit.
Simply perfect! We were recommended this restaurant from a local. She did us right! The sun was setting and the restaurant was getting ready to open, we walked up, without a reservation, and were greeted like family. They made space for us and seated us in what would soon be a completely full restaurant. The meal was utter perfection!
