I watched the USA vs. Iran game and the England vs. Wales game at this restaurant while on vacation in the area from the U.K. It was a fantastic experience to enjoy the lively atmosphere of a true American bar. What Alverta Jenkins doesn't like about Dark Horse:
What a rat hole. It's disgusting. The bartenders are rude, the place is cramped, they press drinks on you and it is dirty. Heaven forbids if there is ever a fire. We went there to hear a well-known DC band and people were completely disrespectful. They took the dance floor. All they care about is to squeeze alcohol. Best fish sandwich (I would show you, but it's gone! Mac-n-cheese and pick! Never had a bad meal here since it became the dark horse. great people and service also.
Great local bar for hot dogs and drinks. the personal was excellent and the hot dog selection was great! they look forward to the remembrance of the menu. had the Chile cheese dog (and added jalapeños.)
Excellent burgers. Happy hour Mondays has $2 beer and special on the burgers.

If you're looking to drink well and eat food that will soak up the alcohol, this is a great place to do so. Contrary to other reviews, I think the prices are reasonable for what you get compared to other places in the area. Good drink specials and happy hour prices. Attentive staff who keep the drinks flowing. Mostly a locals joint.
