King Shing - Ann Arbor
King Shing
Description
Nestled in a cozy corner of the neighborhood, this carryout Asian restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences. While some patrons lament a decline in dish quality, noting overly salty flavors and tough chicken, many others celebrate the generous portions and overall deliciousness. The restaurant excels in vegetarian options, notably the Vegetable Egg Foo Young, praised for its abundant veggies and rich sauce. Friendly service enhances the ambiance, even if the limited seating may deter dine-in visits. With an extensive menu inviting exploration, it remains a local favorite despite some inconsistent dishes. Overall, it's a solid choice for takeout.

Perfect for takeout! There are only two tables in the dining room, and when the front door opens, the temperature can drop significantly. The food was excellent, with generous portions, and the staff member at the front was friendly and welcoming.
I would rate this restaurant 4 stars. My General Tso Chicken had quite a bit of dry, tough chicken, but the chicken fried rice was delicious. I also appreciated the generous amount of fortune cookies— I received 8!
The menu offers a wide variety of options, and the flavors in their sauces are expertly crafted. The portion sizes are generous, with each dish easily providing enough food for two meals if you're ordering individually. I can't rave enough about this place; I go there every week, and they know me by name! It's such a pleasure to have them in our neighborhood—I'm really regretting not discovering them sooner. I'm eager to explore their menu even more. The presentation is fantastic, and everything about this carryout Asian restaurant is impressive; I highly recommend everyone give it a try! As for vegetarian options, their Vegetable Egg Foo Young is outstanding! It’s loaded with an abundance of vegetables, and the sauce is incredibly complex. The rice is cooked to perfection—light and creamy, hands down the best I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant. This dish is absolutely delightful and a must-try; it's truly the best I've ever tasted!
The food has lost quality it doesn’t taste like it use to I don’t know if the restaurant change the cooking team all I can say food taste and quality is gone bad is very disappointing I’ve ordered deluxe Lo main and an orange chicken it was horrible no taste and way to much salt and sauce ; very
This restaurant has good customer service, andprovide good solution options if they mess up something.I usually order beef lo-main extra beef spicy and chicken fried rice with extra eggs and onions and an order of crab ragoon!I feel that the CRAB RAGOON ONLY has its cream filling and NO crab. The front counter workers tell me that it's in there, but you dont taste it... why is it called CRAB ragoon?!....Im allergic to seafood, so I know the taste of imitation crab meat when I taste it.. and it was not present!! This is the ONLY issue that I have at this store, and I've converted to making my own at home.
