The service was pretty slow. We had 3 servers within a 3 hour timeframe. The first server was regularly checked for us. Second server I only had to get water. The third server was also good, even if we only had it there for the last 15 minutes. The live music was great. View all feedback.
What Eleonore Mills doesn't like about Chicken Coop Sports Grill:
Much better places out there that value their customers. Stood there for 10 minutes for my order pickup with many passing workers nothing not even a hello. Back room door opened 3 workers sitting on buckets. Finally got order that took twice as long as told and it’s wrong. If you’re craving chicken coop that bad drive clear over to Urbandale and you’ll get better service. Never again. View all feedback.
The food at this restaurant was amazing. While we were there, they had a bingo game with songs which was really entertaining and humorous.

The restaurant leans more towards being a bar than a grill before the dinner rush. I particularly appreciate the attentive service during that time. The only thing lacking is closed captioning on the TVs.
The fries, burgers and salads are all 5 stars but DO NOT order the tenderloin, They should be embarrassed to serve it. I would compare it to something you'd buy at the freezer isle.
I was excited to try this place out, but we won’t be making a return visit any time soon. We visited on a very dead evening. Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial were playing football so literally like no one out and about. We waited 10 minutes for menus and to get our drink order in. Then waited 10 more to be able to get our food order in (we weren’t ready for when our waitress stopped by with our drinks, but she didn’t visit back for 10 minutes). We then waited 30 minutes for our food to come out. We watched 2 tables that had came in 10 (2 top) and 20 minutes (6 top) after us, get their food before us. When we got our food we could tell it’d been sitting in the window for a considerable amount of time as the wings and fries were soggy. We asked for a sauce we didn’t get in our original order and the waitress didn’t visit back until we were finished with our food and said “oh I forgot the sauce sitting in the window” (like the food, most likely). Just was disappointing to spend $50 for an appetizer, two sodas, and two meals and have sub par service with subsequent sub par food. By the looks of it, it seemed to be the waitress’ oversight, she forgot about her (one) table, because other tables that had other servers seemed to be getting in and out. Just a bummer because our experience tonight likely won’t lead us back!
