What Don Cummings doesn't like about Big Acai Bowl Ankeny:
just pulled to iowa and ankeny. I was looking for an Açaí bowl and was glad to see that there were a few places in the larger DSM area. I came in and ordered a bowl, but when I ate it, I noticed that it had very little of the açaí basic and was full of obst and granola. this was more of a top dish and not so much an açaí bowl. either they ran out or they usually use very little of the basic. My favorite spot! Every time I visit, the customer service is fantastic! I really appreciate the healthy options they offer. The fruit is always fresh. I love coming here because I know I'll never be let down.
I recently moved to Iowa and was excited to try Ankeny Special. I had been craving an Açaí bowl and was pleased to find a few options in the larger Des Moines area. However, when I ordered my bowl, I was disappointed to discover that it contained very little of the Açaí base and was mostly topped with oats and granola. It felt more like a topping dish rather than a true Açaí bowl. I’m not sure if they ran out of Açaí or if they typically use such a small amount.
My daughter took me here for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic!
The service was excellent and very accommodating! I just wish there was one in Arizona! We'll definitely be visiting again!
