We had a wonderful Mother's Day meal at this restaurant. As always, we received a warm welcome from the owners and staff. The meal consisted of three courses, with a complimentary drink for the mother. Although the special menu for the day was not extensive and the portions were not very large, the food was delicious. The starters were particularly enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place.
In all fairness, this restaurant has experienced its share of challenges over the years, including changes in management. However, when we visited for lunch late last year, we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. We decided to give it another try today, and we were pleased to find that both the service and the quality of the food were excellent. The only downside was that there were no other diners besides us. The prices of the meals were reasonable and reflected the quality of the food. We have paid more for lower quality meals at other establishments in the past. Brechin is fortunate to have a hotel and restaurant of this caliber, so we encourage people to support it to ensure its success in the future. Use it or lose it!
Had the misfortune of having a meal here recently, very poor standard of food. Will not be going back!
Strong menu backed up by some seriously good food. The Cullen Skink was outstanding, the fish was fresh and flavoursome, and the seafood risotto was delightful. Even something as simple as the Ardennes pate starter was served wiuth a professional flourish.
