Good local food, very good service, great view, reasonable prices. One of the best restaurants to go in town. It might look like a tourist trap but it is not at all! Excellent lunch menus in week days. View all feedback.
What Mike S doesn't like about Restaurante Bar Cais de Angra:
This is a very nice restaurant overlooking the marina so location is excellent but food is subpar and there was pigeons inside picking up crumbs off the tables. The menu is limited so we decided to have burgers and they looked great but the chicken burger had an off taste and the bbq burger was pink in the middle. Won't be back. View all feedback.
Had a really nice lunch! The atmosphere and decor is quite fancy and the staff are very friendly. The vegan burger was so delicious
We had two great meals here and both served by the wonderful Marianna she was great! The restaurant is right on the pier in the marina it is large, airy, and beautifully designed. The menu was more interesting vs. other restaurants we visited on the trip. Marianna was great with recommendations we tried the Francensina sandwich something that is made only on Saturdays as it is covered in a homemade gravy that cooks for days we were not disappointed it was great and so rich, we shared it. We also had the bruschetta appetizer. On the second visit we shared the BBQ burger it was delicious!!!! Oh and a shoutout to the fries fresh, crisp, perfect!
We had an excellent meal here. We each had catch of the day, but two different types of fish. We chose our fish from the bed of ice. The bread appetizer was fresh and delicious. Sides are extra. The restaurant has excellent views right on the marina. Very reasonable catch of the day prices. About 10€ each.
I was expecting a lot of this place as it was highly recommended by friends. However it starts on the booking moment. I have called to book a table for dinner for two. All good, however they forgot to explain that they don’t book on the terrace (during covid times I would say that is an important fact). So when we arrived we only had table indoors. We asked if we could have a table outside. We could but we would have to wait in line as if any reservation ever been made. In the meantime we decided to have our indoor table has the restaurant had a lot of doors open with good ventilation. We asked for fish soup (was good) and a tomato soup (very salty). We had also very fish dishes with octopus and tuna. They were good but not outstanding. In top of that between the soup and the main dish we waited at least 45 min with no explanation for the delay. But the even more negative side goes really to the service. All of the staff wasn’t paying attention at all times. A lot of people, totally uncoordinated, distracted, having conversations but not really focused on what the customers need. And on top of that the restaurant was not even full. The terrace was but inside most of the room was empty. Maybe it was a question of bad luck but honestly so far was one of the poorest options in Azores.
