Nestled atop Blue Mountain, this restaurant offers a dining experience that is both exquisite and frustrating, depending on your visit. While many rave about the delicious food and warm service, others express disappointment over long wait times, high prices, and mismatched expectations for hikers seeking quick meals. Highlights include fresh, locally sourced dishes and a great beer selection, particularly appreciated after a long outdoor trek. The vibrant atmosphere, punctuated by live music in the summer, adds to its charm, making it a delightful stop for both locals and travelers. However, a cautious approach is recommended for those with time constraints or budget considerations.
Great at hiking friendly restaurant with great food and drinks. highly recommended!
I was only here twice, but the service and eating are exquisite. the staff is very friendly and attentive. we have not yet tried the full escape, but the burger and chicken sandwiches are excellent. the thunder garnels are absolutely amazing. I look forward to many more visits. can not wait to sit outside and enjoy the landscape and a cold drink
Super friendly service. very hiking friendly facility. the wings were really good together with the motherlode sandwich.
What a lovely place. Stopped by after visiting Bear Rock Junction. Server/bartender Sara was amazing. The apps were great and so was the mains. Had the burger, cooked well and juicy. The Buffalo rolls were tasty and I really loved the French onion soup. It's right at the Appalachian trail so lots of backpackers/hikers stop by. It's pretty cool to see these folks who have beentrekking for weeks to months. Whenever I'm around I will stop by.
Lunch was nice. The menu has some interesting items. Service seemed a little slow but it was kind of in between meal times. The Thunder Nuts were spiced but I wasn't thrilled about them. The rest was tasty. The patio was pleasant and faces a green spacebut there is no direct view of the valley. Will definitely visit again and try the inside. Maybe near the fireplace in Winter.
