Great food, prices, and service. Everything my family has tried has been excellent, but the favorites so far are the cranberry chicken salad sandwiches and spicy chicken pierogi dinner. View all feedback.
What George L doesn't like about Homer's:
I hate restaurants that don't update their websites. I checked this morning before going over for breakfast. Website said it was open at 8am. When I got there, there was a sign on the door that said not open until 4pm. What is this? The 1950's? Signs on the door just don't cut it anymore. View all feedback.
Consistently great food, but the service is often lacking and wait times can be quite long.
There's no need for a review since they're closing down. It's unfortunate because the food was good, although the service was a bit slow.
This is a wonderful local mom-and-pop restaurant. Everything we've tried has been fantastic!
If the people weren't at least friendly it would get one star. Yes, it's homey and welcoming, but something about it seems saccharin. Like they're trying too hard. The counter for ice cream is quaint. The ice cream is bleh. The food is nothing creative. If you want the standard Sysco regulars fried up to your liking, you might really enjoy this place. I know this place is a big hit with kids and families (because of the kids). What kills this place is the slow service, the relatively high prices for what you're getting and the mediocrity when it could be great. The location is great for Sparta and the space looks very nice. If there were improvements in the menu (like something even a little creative) and service was a little quicker I think it would be really good. It just seems that whoever's running this place is mailing it in and getting away with it because there just aren't many options like it it town right now. The diner they're re-doing up the road will either kill this place or make it stronger. I hope it's the latter because Sparta can support both.
First time here this morning for breakfast. Omletes were large and very tasty. Best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Waitress was very friendly. Great atmosphere and the wall of honor is a nice touch that you dont see in enough places. Prices are definitely high and it did take awhile in a not busy restaurant to get breakfast. I'd definitely recommend trying it and well be back for sure!!
