In the heart of Chicago, Gene's Drive-In is a must-visit spot for hot dog aficionados. With exceptional service and delicious offerings like chili dogs, cheese dogs, and root beer floats, this classic drive-in won over diners with its top-notch hospitality and tasty options, even for vegetarians. This restaurant is amazing! I have visited Genes twice this summer. As a vegetarian, I was happy to find some options I could eat. The root beer floats are delicious. The service is top-notch with friendly and efficient servers, and the cooks are great. It's a fun place to visit if you're in the area.

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. The chicken sandwich was wonderful and the homemade root beer was really good. The prices were not bad at all and we always love to support small local businesses. We will definitely be coming back.

The Chili Dogs are exactly what you expect when you go to Gene's! Consistently GOOD! The Onion Rings were rather bland and the Fries are unremarkable but not bad. HIGH marks go to the nice young lady that took our order and kept checking on us. Her service was exceptional!

A local favorite and a nice place to visit every once in a while. Food is good and root beer is awesome. I will probably bypass ordering french fries for now on. I think they got new containers a year or so ago and you only get what fits in the container. It seems to be about half of what you used to get but the price stayed the same.

The milkshake is what I came here for. The ice cream they use is rich and is the only reason I go there. I love dairy queens blizzards above all but the Shakes here specifically the strawberry that I had for the first time here reminded me of the old days of making homemade ice cream on fourth of July and grilling burgers. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is because they don't serve cheeseburgers or any hamburger. They have just about everything else you would want from a dive in.
