Steam Dot - Anchorage
Steam Dot
Description
Nestled in downtown Anchorage, this restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences. While the delightful coffee and friendly service win over some visitors, others lament the harsh treatment from staff, particularly during busy events. Reports of rude bartenders and arbitrary ejections create an unsettling atmosphere, overshadowing the enjoyable live music and decent drink options. Though some patrons appreciate its comfortable vibe for relaxation or meetings, others find it overcrowded and lacking in quality service. Overall, while the location boasts potential with tasty drinks and lovely views, consistent service issues call into question its desirability as a go-to spot.

Pretty good little coffee shop in downtown Anchorage. There was nobody there when I visited (at 9am on a Saturday ; I think the whole city has been hit hard by the lack of tourists (so be sure to stop in to one of these local places for your morning cup! . They have a full espresso bar menu, as well as pour overs and cold brew. They also have a ton of discounts available if you buy multiple things. The coffee was above average, as was the cold brew. Service was friendly.
The service at this restaurant was impeccable and friendly. I had a delicious decaf americano, which was surprisingly difficult to find. The restaurant had plenty of natural light, even on a cloudy, snowy day, making it a great spot for reading and writing. With two floors, there were plenty of seating options, and most tables were located next to windows. The atmosphere was quiet and perfect for chilling out or people-watching. However, the table chairs were not very comfortable and the upstairs table was a bit wobbly. These are small details worth noting.
