A great atmosphere, welcoming friendly staff, fairly good... read more I've been here a couple times now both for dinner and lunch and always as a result of business travel. A great atmosphere, welcoming friendly staff, fairly good service and that's where it ends.The menu suggests more then typical pub-grub but I'm afraid that's the extent of it. Mediocre at best, the food is bland, despite the descriptors the poutine I had as a side was at best mid-tier fries and canned gravy with the fries being barely cooked and certainly no where near crisp.Portions were reasonable but out of synch with price and quality. I will not likely return not so much be cause it was bad .... just that I know there is better for the same dollar.

The place has chang... read more I haven't been to Tailgate Charlie's for a long time as I don't live in the area now but I was back there recently and stopped in for lunch. The place has changed quite a bit from what I remember and so has the menu, it seems much more limited but perhaps I'm dating myself. I decided to have a sandwich they call The Smoker, which has Montreal smoked meat on marble rye. They also add lettuce, tomato and mustard which seemed really odd to me so I chose to remove the veggies cause for me you don't garnish smoked meat sandwiches that way. The sandwich was okay, I took it with onion rings and those were about the same. I might come back next time I am in Hamilton, we'll see.

I ha... read more The seafood pasta was fantastic and they were happy to customize it with Alfredo sauce. This restaurant is a great spot to enjoy a meal and catch the game. I had excellent service and food for the second night in a row. Tonight, I tried the quesadilla and it was absolutely delicious with great guacamole. I highly recommend this place!

You can begin your evening upstairs, enjoying some food and drinks, playing pool, and then head downstairs to dance. It's definitely one of my top favorite bars.
