Royal Villa Carraroe - An cheathru rua

We decided to dine at the restaurant in Carraroe without a reservation and were able to get a table without any issues. The restaurant is a spacious room and has a reasonably authentic ambiance. The service from the waitress was adequate and polite. However, I was quite disappointed with the quality and price of the food. My daughter and I ordered the Chow Mein, which looked unappetizing with its pale color and clear sauce. The taste was awful, with the overpowering flavor of the sauce masking the individual ingredients. It seemed as though the meal had been reheated from frozen. My son ordered the roast chicken with a side of curry sauce and chips, but found the portion size to be very small and had nothing positive to say about it. My wife ordered the chicken curry, which she found enjoyable and thought the chicken looked fresher compared to the Chow Mein chicken. We were surprised to see that we were charged more than the prices listed on the menu, with an overcharge of 12.00 euro in total. I tried to salvage the dining experience by ordering dessert, but even that failed to make up for the disappointing main course. The staff appeared unaware of my dissatisfaction with the food and pricing. I felt hesitant to raise my concerns at the time and only realized the pricing discrepancies later. I would suggest revamping the Chow Mein recipe or replacing the chef. It would also be helpful to have the prices for meals clearly displayed on the restaurant's website to avoid any confusion or overcharging for customers.

I am from the UK, but currently staying about 10 minutes away from the Royal Garden. I decided to try it out and was not let down. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back and would recommend it if you are in the area.

We had a party of 17 for a family gathering. The restaurant set up a square table, which was perfect for us to socialize with each other. We ordered shared appetizers and individual entrees. Mairead was our server and took great care of us. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Had a lovely take away from here with friends very good tasty food and very reasonably priced ......

The staff are excellent and so is the food but the prices are quite steep. Easily eighty euros for two adults and one child. Deserts are great but frequently out of stock.
