We were looking for a quiet, comfortable restaurant with affordable prices. That was the best place because it is near the Artis Zoo in a quiet neighborhood. Were there for a quick meal after a visit to the zoo and just before going to the Dutch Resistance and Micropia museums (amazing experiences, btw). Ended up having a very tasty burger, expertly paired with a Trappist beer, as suggested by the waitress. Service was on point, even on the lull of the mid afternoon when staff tends to go about other restaurant chores, these guys were making us feel right at home. I wouldn't go out of my way just to get a table there, but if you're in the area for the attractions, it's a very safe bet (not to mention it beats the zoo restaurant by far, both in prices and quality; though probably not as children-friendly).
This positive review is based on three things only: their home made apple pie, the terrace on a sunny morning and the staff. All three are good. And to top it off, it's next door to the Verzetmuseum and opposite of Artis. I have never been here on a rainy day, when it was crazy busy, for lunch or for dinner, so don't rely on this review is these factors apply to you. But trust me: when you are looking for apple pie outside on a sunny morning and you are in the neighbourhood, choose Plancius.
Look elsewhere. Food was boring, overpriced. I only stopped here because I was too lazy to look for another restaurant. I guess I paid for my laziness. Oh well, live and learn.
Mooi restaurant in gezellige buurt. Dienen was zeer attent en goed. voedsel van goede kwaliteit. Price kwaliteit is goed. Kom terug.
Habíamos reservado para el día de la noche a las 9:00. Pagamos un taxi desde nuestro hotel situado en las afueras que nos costó 85 euros por nada. Llegamos a tiempo, a las 21:00 en punto y el restaurante estaba cerrado. Lamentable.
