We were in Amsterdam for a few days before a cruise and asked the concierge at the Pulitzer hotel for a good restaurant featuring local ingredients and cuisine. He suggested L'Invite as a great restaurant featuring Dutch cuisine with a modern flair. When we arrived we were met by, as we found out later, the Chef Owner. We told him we were food and wine people and told him to serve us whatever he wanted, both food and wines. The restaurant became busy with a large group but that had no effect on the quality of food and service. We enjoyed a nice leisurely dinner with wines and produce from local winemakers and friends of the chef. We will definitely go back when we are in Amsterdam!!
Gorgeous location, especially if the weather permits you to sit outside by the canal. Well thought-out tasting menu with lots of interesting tastes and largely local products. Excellent accompanying wines.
Outstanding! Traditional Dutch food, fresh, local. A true dining experience. Expect a tasting menu with flavors you would have never imagined. The very nice wine menu tops off the experience. The ambiance is also exceptional whether you choose a window seat to view the activity on the street or, towards the inside of the 400 year old building you will not be disappointed. Again, outstanding!! Fondly, A foodie from Oregon, USA
We are very lucky! Really! This is such a friendly and family run restaurant! With a big heart! Thank you owner you showed us your kitchen and gave us pleasure! May God return to this beautiful city and visit you again and feel the same taste Amsterdam!
