it was the first time we tasted Indonesian food. the first reading of the menu was confusing as the main option was large and the individual parts were not familiar at all. the waiter explained that we could have a smaller one that was listed as lunchtime. they were perfect for dinner and we were more than satisfied. the food was delicious and I would recommend this restaurant very much. because we did not want to reistaffel for 2 and only demanded 1 and other dishes, we were recommended to have two of the midday version presented on a plate instead of any element in individual small dresses, as in a normal reistaffel. some of the foods were hot and a few lukewarm. This restaurant was recommended by a local Dutch couple who travels the world. We had the Rijsttafel, which consists of about 15 small plates. We found the food very average, nothing special. We expected more taste, especially as Indonesia is known for its spices.
Although I had my confirmation, the restaurant did not have my reservation. They gave us a lousy table.
