Amazing spot in a quaint, relaxed neighborhood of Amsterdam. My girlfriend and I love the pizza here but tonight we ate the weekly menu and it was great! Lemon risotto with red mullet in a roasted garlic tomato sauce was incredible! Also the duck breast next to rutabaga and parsnip puree with cranberry sauce was so delicious for the season. Big, bright, juicy flavors! Love this place. View all feedback.
What Herman W doesn't like about Forno:
Recently ordered some pizza here, after having been disappointed a couple of times. Highly disappointing again! Not only are they pretty much the only pizza place within little more than a kilometer of my house that always manages to send me cold pizzas, but now, the ingredients are also suffering. Dough tasted like it had been sitting around for 24 hours and toppings seemed to come straight from Lidl or Aldi, while... View all feedback.
:: Note: This review is for drinks and dessert only! :: We were hungry for a late night meal/snack, but just missed the kitchen closing for dinner at 10pm. The waitress, who was either super nice like the Dutch are famously known to be or because it was her birthday, convinced the kitchen to serve us dessert though. And WOW, was that not to be missed. On to that in just a moment. First, as we waited for our desserts, we ordered drinks, and the bartender accommodated my request to turn the Moscow Mules on the menu into Gin Mules. And WOW, was that deliciously refreshing perfection. My drink was so good, my friends all ordered the same as me on the second round. Substitution win! But now on to the desserts. I can't remember the exact names of what we ordered, but one was a chocolate mousse dessert served in a oversized wine glass and the other a citrus torte served with either sorbet or gelato. My fuzzy, dim-lighted pictures don't help much to decode what the exact desserts were, but mark my words, they were delicious. I was impressed how perfectly balanced all the flavors were and the ingredients just seemed to dance on my tongue. My friends were equally impressed with the desserts, and it capped off a wonderful, surprise of a late night meal. I wish I could be more precise in my descriptions or photo evidence, but I guess you'll just have to test the merchandise yourself!
Forno is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood just far away enough from the tourist crowds. Locals only here! They have a great terrace for those sun-seeking diners. A super place for afternoon drinks and snacks. Good plates of pasta and delicious pizza. Always get their specials! Three stars because I think it's slightly overpriced for the amount of food you get. But I also live next door so I expect a neighbor discount which I don't get :
Love love love it here. The food is delicious and the service is great. I think when I first discovered it here I only wanted to eat here for a week

Great ambience, fantastic food and brilliant service. Ambience: (5/5) The place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Seating is comfortable and the space is well lit. Food: (5/5) Had quite a few things while here. The bread with garlic dip was great. The dip consistency was really great. The pizza was really good, the multiple cheeses made it a delight while the pesto adding a real freshness to it. The eggplant dish was absolutely brilliant, cheese wrapped eggplant... just think about it, I want it again! Great coffee to round up the meal. Summary: (5/5) All in all a great little find. Loved it. Definitely worth a visit...
