Cafe In De Buurt - Amsterdam

Loved this restaurant! European food can be a bit intimidating (especially while pregnant ‍ , but this trendy and intimate spot hosted a mixture of Dutch cuisine with an American flare. The service was attentive and friendly. Yelp definitely helped make our selection with the high rating and pictures, always helpful! We stayed at the American Hotel and it was a short walk to the location. I ordered the hamburger, as this was the last night of our euro vacation and I was craving some taste of home. It was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection and just juicy AF. Better than most burgers I've had in the states, and I've had my fair share! I ordered a side of fries with mayo, good but nothing extraordinary. My husband ordered the Entrecôte, a filet size steak (a bit thinner that was so tender and also cooked perfectly, medium rare would be our suggestion. It came with roasted tomatoes on the vine and an herb butter sauce that was to die for! He got the mixed salad with vinaigrette but theirs is a bit different, basically a honey mustard dressing. The wine selection was great and it was very affordable. His steak was 14,50 and my burger was 12,50! Highly recommended!

Great setting. Real busy but the treo on staff were great. Only came for beer and frites, but you won't regret either of those.

Probably my favorite place I visited in Amsterdam and I loved them all. Amazing food try sauteed chicken and squash salad. Atmosphere is vibrant and service is superb.
