I typically do not write negative reviews, but today I feel compelled to share my experience. I ordered the waffle and was disappointed to find that it appeared to have been cooked in a panini press, resulting in a thin, pancake-like texture. The prefabricated batter seemed to have been made with protein powder containing Stevia, which gave it a less-than-favorable taste. The waffle itself had a strange flavor, resembling unroasted sesame seeds, Chia seeds, and salt. Overall, it was not a good experience.
The waffles at this restaurant have a strange taste. There's really no need to add protein powder to waffles. While I appreciate having vegan options, I think it would be better to just use a regular waffle recipe with plant-based milk and egg substitutes instead of trying to add extra protein and chia seeds. This would be a simpler and tastier option.
Do you think Portland was the only place to find vegan waffles in Oregon? Think again. Amity does not have many vegan options, but this place is a large breakfast place. Besides waffles with blows and fillings you can mix and fit, they have coffee with a variety of non-dairy milk options. If you have work to do, they also have Wi-Fi available. If it is beautiful outside, there is a cute outdoor seating area in the back terrace.
