Our experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing due to the behavior of the two employees we encountered. We ordered a frappuccino without whipped cream, but they still added it. When we tried to remove the whipped cream ourselves, one of the employees spoke to us in a discourteous tone, saying, "If you wanted it off, you could have asked us to do it back here instead of making a mess in the café." I assured her that we intended to clean up the mess. The other employee then chimed in, stating, "If you didn’t want whipped cream, you should have asked for no whipped cream." I pointed out that we had indeed requested it without whipped cream, and she responded with a disdainful look. Overall, we were left very dissatisfied with their unfriendly attitude, which seemed unwarranted.
Bookends is located inside Parks Library on Iowa State University‘s campus. It is staffed by students and frequented by students and staff of the University. All the food is prepared fresh every day and packaged for grab and go. It’s also a coffee shop so you can get a latte anyway you like it. Very convenient – but gets very busy between classes.
Coffee is the goat. On campus in a library filled with books and hot brewed coffee on your desk. What could be better than that.
