Alexander's - Ambridge

Let’s start with the negatives: it's about half an hour from my home. However, the positives far outweigh this one downside. The cod was undoubtedly the best boiled fish I've had anywhere. It was wonderfully flaky and moist, and the lemon butter sauce enhanced its flavor without overpowering it. The baked potato was perfectly prepared, soft on the inside with a beautifully crispy skin on the outside. My wife enjoyed the mahi mahi so much that she barely left any for me! She mentioned that the chutney provided a delightful sweet and spicy balance to the fish, and the roasted zucchini, prepared with lemon olive oil, has now become her favorite way to enjoy it. For dessert, she chose the baklava sundae, which featured a generous, thick piece of baklava topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce. I went for the crème brûlée, which was freshly torched at our table—a lovely touch. The caramelized brown sugar formed a warm layer over the cool custard, although I personally prefer it without the raspberries that accompanied it, as they distracted from the classic crème brûlée flavor. Our waiter, whom I suspect might be one of the owners, was fantastic. He was attentive without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed. He even shared a few jokes with us! After our meal, he took a few moments to chat, and he was genuinely charming. Even if the food hadn’t been as incredible as it was, the excellent service we received would have been sufficient to bring us back. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!

Alexander's is a family-run restaurant that has been serving the Ambridge community and its surrounding areas for many years. It boasts a lovely atmosphere, delicious and well-prepared dishes, and outstanding hospitality. The prices are very reasonable, and although the majority of the menu features traditional American cuisine, there are also excellent Greek and Italian options available. I highly recommend dining here.

Alexander 's has a company lunch in February 2014. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything tasted amazing and was fresh and hot. The staff filled our plates to the edge and left nothing! Absolutely extraordinary food. I see the other complaints here are regarding their customer service and wait staffing obvious I can't come to that because our interaction was simply carried out, but the older lady and two gentlemen who were here were nothing but friendly and repeatedly thanked us for the opportunity to serve them. Regular customer when visiting. Treated like family. Love the mushroom soup on Fridays. Fried cod, awesome. Can still get beets. Makes me happy.
