What Lucas Dickens doesn't like about Cafe des Arts:
we had a very unpleasant experience at 6:30 o'clock, at the end of the afternoon, try to order some snacks with our drinks. I speak fluent French; I would have used the words that a Frenchman would have, but I clearly asked for a “snack” while. the waiter was collaboratiw, a man who seemed to be responsible in the entertainment and rudely closed our mouth, saying that the “kitchen only opens around seven”. that was h... We travelled for a month in France and this was by far the worst meal our family had. Food was below average and the service was terrible. Waitress was the rudest we've every come across in France. As I was trying to speak to her in she ripped the menu out of my hand and walked away. When leaving I was going to talk to the manager but he was clearly drunk. We would have been better off going to McDonalds for dinner.
Au sortir de la visite du château, ce café est le premier qui se présente, et il est bien pratique pour s'y désaltérer ou pour y prendre un repas "de brasserie" à un prix abordable.
Very convenient for your visit to the château . The waiter spoke English and the service was quick and efficient.
De passage à Amboise nous sommes rentrés dans ce café pile en face la sortie du château. Établissement recommandé depuis longtemps par le guide du routard et on comprend pourquoi. Nous avons pu déjeuner malgré l'heure tardive ( un vrai plus quand on est en week-end ! ).La carte " snack" est variée et les prix plutôt abordables. Nous avons choisi des burgers et club sandwichs servis avec frites et salade : copieux et bons ! Et nous avons goûté la bière locale, la birouette. Adresse sympathique et typique routarde que nous recommandons.
We were hungry and in a rush to eat since we were on a group tour, I asked the gentleman if we can have the sandwiches done in 15 minutes and he actually was able to take care of us in that limited time. And you can really see him move as fast as he can. Service was excellent and sandwiches were pretty good too!
