What judeloc doesn't like about The Pantry:
Chose cheese pie which was lacking in seasoning and unfortunately was served with soggy pastry so can only guess had been microwaved. The remainder of the food was nice though with reasonable portion size. The staff were friendly but the server cleaned our table, and another, after seating us spraying cleaning products onto a plastic tablecloth leaving the surface wet, the air tainted and running the risk of splashin... A lovely but very small tea room, I find its best to book. A friendly and very welcoming atmosphere with super friendly and attentive staff. The afternoon tea for two which was a birthday treat for me was the best value I have experienced having been to different venues for an afternoon tea. The tiered cake stand was bulging with substantial sandwiches on brown and white bread of the home made variety not sliced bread. There was a good variety of fillings for the sandwiches. The scones, jam and clotted cream were out of this world and there was a lovely variety of small and sliced cakes, the tea pot was replenished numerous times and we left feeling delightfully stuffed. The tearoom itself is very small but cosy and decorated in a very charming and pretty way with old fashioned tea pots and tea sets and tablecloths no longer it seems used by anyone. As it was my birthday I was given a complimentary Lemon Muffin by the owner, but if given enough time they will organize a birthday cake..... we didn 't give enough notice only booking a table on the day of my birthday. We are lucky enough to live in the village where this tea room is so we can visit any time and when we do we are always greeted as if its a first visit..... such lovely people. There is a very nice ice cream parlour also selling Bradwells ice cream and a nice sitting area outside where you can sit with your dog. They do super sausage cobs to take away which are a meal in themselves infact all their cobs are enormous and have a good selection of pies pasties, quiche etc as well as a very nice menu in the café. The bread and cakes sold by them are second to none. Its worth an afternoon of anyones time to visit this lovely hidden surprise in a friendly village. The tearoom is situated on a main road at Swanwick and sometimes parking can be a problem, there is a village car park not far away and its possible to find parking on the roadside sometimes. The afternoon tea was wonderful value for money, much cheaper than some leading hotels, and we got twice as much as they served, and in a much nicer atmosphere. Well done The Pantry keep it up.
Fantastic place staff couldn't be more welcoming. Food was excellent, all home made we'll presented. Loads of choice an extensive range of cakes scones. The scones are the best I've ever tasted. Well worth a visit

Small cosy cafe which serves an excellent breakfast. Greeting from the staff is welcoming and friendly with that all important smile and service is quick and efficient. Breakfast is well cooked, tasty and very reasonably priced, what a great way to start the day.
What a delight. A return visit to enjoy lunch with a friend.. Beautiful lunches and scrumptious cakes. Old fashioned tea room with home made food. Even bought a pie for evening meal at home.
