Costa Coffee - Amber Valley

We have visited this restaurant before because it is a less crowded spot. There was no line when we got there, and we quickly ordered breakfast. I had toast with honey, while my husband had a sausage sandwich and an americano. The menu had a great variety of food and drink options.

I went to the restaurant hoping to enjoy a relaxing latte, only to find out that they no longer offer Almond milk. I was disappointed, as Almond milk is the only milk I can consume. I will not be able to meet friends for coffee as I used to. The staff provided no explanation for this sudden change, simply stating that it happened from the previous day for unknown reasons. I am a regular customer, visiting at least five times a week and sometimes twice a day, and I am very disappointed that this information was not communicated to me.

Absolutely disgusted by the standard of cleanliness. Filthy tables and floors. Staff just couldn't be bothered when ordering food. Hardly any of the stuff ordered available, mainly due to staff just not wanting to do any work. My option...go elsewhere In the service station.

Low stars due to behaviour of staff. One member making coffee was very grumpy his colleague on the till didn't ask us if we were staying in or taking away so he began to make us take away drinks. When we said we were staying in for food, he looked at us like we'd personally offended him. Chucked all the takeaway cups with coffee in in the bin to make us one's in mugs even though we would have been fine to drink from take away cups if he'd asked. Slammed the tray down to put our mugs on and was bickering with/demeaning his colleague for not getting the tray ready. I get that people have bad days, and it's just a Costa but I've never seen a batista be so unprofessional over something so inconsiderable. We probably won't come back to this service station again as other ones are much more pleasant. Food/drink was normal Costa standard slightly overpriced but tasty.

We visited after returning at East Midlands airport from holiday. Had a really long day and wanted something to eat and drink. It was 6.50 pm. The lady at the counter watched us pick up sandwiches and drinks and get to the front of the queue before informing us that the man in front was the last order! This was very disappointing. Surely she could have said straight away or at least served us a cold drink and a cake! Very unhelpful
