Codnor Fish - Amber Valley
Codnor Fish
Description
Codnor Fish Bar has garnered mixed reviews, with some patrons praising its fresh, hot meals and friendly service. Many have enjoyed the diverse menu, which includes traditional fish and chips, kebabs, and burgers, often citing generous portion sizes at reasonable prices. However, others criticize the establishment for hygiene concerns, including poorly cooked food and unsanitary conditions. The cash-only policy has raised eyebrows, leading to suspicions about its business practices. While some customers appreciate the quick service and quality of certain dishes, the overall experience remains inconsistent, prompting potential diners to weigh their options carefully before visiting.

This is my go-to local fish and chip shop, and luckily, it's also my favorite. It offers more than just fish and chips - they also serve pizza, burgers, kebabs, and other items. I have always been satisfied with the food here, having tried a variety of dishes over the past couple of years. The portion sizes are large, some may even say generous, but I prefer not to use that term. The prices are reasonable and it is a cash-only establishment. If you don't have cash, there is a cash machine nearby. Overall, Codnor may not have many dining options, but I am thankful that Codnor Fish Bar is one of them.
I find it questionable that this restaurant is cash only. It seems like they may be engaging in tax evasion. It is repulsive to think that they are not contributing their fair share like hardworking individuals do. These individuals should be ashamed of themselves.
Purchased a fritter and two fish bites , fives minutes away but cold when I got home. Like concrete no fish in bites because of re cooking , fritter was like a big crisp . Worst meal I’ve ever had from a chippy
After experiencing a failed online collection order elsewhere, I decided to drive to this restaurant instead. I was pleased with the prompt service, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Just a heads up, they only accept cash for collections, which is not well advertised.
