Sushi Go - Amaroo
Sushi Go
Description
Nestled in Amaroo, this sushi train restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences. While some guests praise its fresh offerings and reasonable prices, others lament the lack of attentiveness in service and the restaurant's overall upkeep. The menu presents a decent selection, with highlights including the chicken karaage and unique items like preserved baby octopus. Despite its shortcomings, many loyal patrons appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and the quick service during busy periods. For an accessible introduction to Japanese cuisine, this spot may still be worth a try, though customers should manage their expectations regarding service consistency.

This place is a hidden gem in amaroo, I do understand it’s in a suburb but there was not much variety on the train as reflected on the menu, sushi roll sizes were on the smaller side though the prices for the plates were cheaper then other trains in Canberra.
The renovations are impressive, the prices are reasonable, the sanitation is clean, and the service is excellent.
I have been going here for at least a year, and the staff have never disappointed me. My son loves going here after a tiring day at school. We’re basically Regulars. If you want to get into Japanese Cuisine, this is the place to go. My son, for his birthday, wants there 58$, 76 pieces assorted maki box. And it looks delicious.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The food showed little thought or attention to flavor, the service was minimal and delivered with a frown, and the restaurant itself seemed neglected and in need of upkeep. I don't plan on returning anytime soon. The only dish worth mentioning was the chicken karaage. Food: 2, Service: 2, Atmosphere: 2.
