Food is fantastic. Right on Route 66 and definitely a spot we would return to. We ordered the Green Chile Swiss Burger and the Chicken Fried steak with mashed potatoes. Do not pass this place up! View all feedback.
What Maxwell Carlisle doesn't like about Cattleman's Cafe:
This place was SKETCHY. It’s the diner portion of a dive bar in a bad part of town. Sat where I could see my car the whole time and noticed there were multiple bullet holes in the front windows. The place seemed clean enough inside, but the tables were sticky to the touch and some of the booths had torn upholstery. The waitress was nice enough, but she forgot to bring a fork with my meal. Good food, good service and friendly welcoming atmosphere!
Went there to get a adult beverage and the bar tender was nice but the waitress was very rude acted like I was a bother and didn't have any teeth but I still tipped her good but every time I tried to get a drink it was a hassle I don't know how the food is but the bar is below average
BARTENDER ANDDDDD OWNER WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DRUNK. NEITHER OF THEM HAD ANY TEETH AND WAS SPITTING IN MY DRINK THE WHOLE TIME. I ASKED FOR ANGEL CUM AND I GOT A LOUGIE ON THE BAR......GROSS!!! YUCK Covid2024 SaveTheWorld CattlemansCafe806 Amarillo Trash
Laidback, mom and pop, greasy spoon diner. Great service. 4 star food not because it’s not good, you’re just not going to find things like Gouda or arugula on the menu. It’s what you’d expect from a small town diner and a unique experience. Smoking and non smoking. The ladies are sweet and on top of your needs. Coffee or tea is $0.99! Breakfast plate with 1 egg, sausage or 3 slices bacon, hash browns, toast or biscuit and gravy is $7.99. You’re not going to eat for that anywhere else in town. Full of retired folks and cowboys, it’s our favorite place to eat and people watch. Wheelchair accessibility: As an amputee, everything is accessible and for the wheelers out there, the isles are wide enough to pull up to a table. Only bad part, the booth seats have ZERO padding and it’s hard on she butt bones.
Read a review that this place had a good chicken fried steak. I was rejected due to having my service dog with me, was told the owner didn’t allow even “real” service dogs. My service dog was vested, sitting beside me, and I have a very obvious disability. Not a big disappointment as it’s in a rather sketchy location next to a gentleman’s club.
