The staff at this restaurant are trained well and they’re all willing to go out of their way to serve you. The restaurant is similar to Fuddruckers but with a Texas theme throughout. You build your own burger by adding toppings and condiments to your liking. They have some really good sweet tea and lemonade. There are a few flavored selections as well. View all feedback.
What Kathryn Schmitt doesn't like about Buns Over Texas:
I don't understand why this restaurant has a four-star rating. I tried to eat here twice, but both times the staff completely ignored me. They couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge my presence. The service and food at the location in Lubbock are great, but I will never return to this place. I used to eat here a few times a month when it was as good as the Lubbock location, but now it's just not worth it. View all feedback.
I probably will not return to this restaurant. We placed an order for two entrees and a children's meal online, and my husband went to pick it up 25 minutes later. When he arrived, they brought out a hamburger and milkshake which were not our order. After informing them of the mistake, they promised to find the correct order but never returned. After waiting for 15 minutes, my husband called and was put on hold. Finally, 15 minutes later, they informed him that our order had been misplaced. When he asked to speak to a manager to address the situation and ensure a proper resolution, the manager promised to have our order ready in 5 minutes. However, after 10 more minutes passed, our food was still not ready and was brought out without any explanation. We had to wait a total of an hour for our order. Upon arriving home, we discovered that they had also forgotten to include our combo meals. Attempting to call to rectify the situation, we were put on hold again with no response. After reaching out online, we have yet to receive a response three days later. It is clear that they do not value customer service.

I tried Buns about Texas for the first time tonight. I ordered the Sunrise burger, while my companion got a double cheeseburger with bacon. I enjoyed my burger for the most part, but the double cheese fries were disappointing. The fries were soggy with dry cheese. We requested grilled onions on our burgers and jalapeños for my companion, but they only offer raw toppings. I appreciate the idea of letting guests customize their burgers, but for the high prices, I would expect more options like grilled onions and peppers. My husband found the fries to be salty and overly crunchy. My burger was good overall, especially with the perfectly cooked egg. The bun was slightly overcooked and tough on the edges. I'm not sure if it's worth the high price. I had initially wanted a patty melt, but it wasn't on the menu and they don't offer grilled rye bread. Overall, not a terrible experience but definitely overpriced and slightly disappointing.
The first time were great. second time not so great. for the third time meat patties so over boiled, hard to eat. hard to rock. will not be ordered again from there! I wanted a big cheeseburger very disappointed.
Lady cleaning the tables dropped her rag on the floor then picked-up the rag and proceeded to clean the table. She continued on to the other tables with the same rag. Food was ok...nothing special. Five Guys is way better.
