Das Restaurant La Taverne ist immer für einen spontanes Essen zu empfehlen und hatte bis jetzt auch tagtäglich geöffnet (seit 2017 ist der Montag ein Ruhetag). I went with my family to La Taverna for lunch. The restaurant looks really great and many people gave La Taverna a great rating. Unfortunately my experience with the food was anything but good. We ordered Schnitzel and a Pizza with a side salad. The Schnitzel was warmed up, Pizza was like getting it from a grocery store and the salad looked like some left over from the day before. We paid Euro 50 for lunch. I am not sure whether the food is only bad during lunch. But independently when paying so much money at a restaurant I expect more than a boxed pizza. Based on my experience I would never recommend this place and for sure not for lunch.
In the Hanau area, this is one of my favorite restaurants, recommended by a local collaegue when I was on an extended business trip. I've been here 3 times and have not been disappointed yet. On my second visit I had the Tagliatelle salmone, which was particularly tasty with plenty of chunks of tender, moist salmon. The restaurant's interior is unique, with plenty of large potted plants and plent of light from skylights. The staff are inobtrussive yet attentive. There is plenty of free parking in their parking lot, and they are easy to get to.
About 2 months ago, my mom had to move from her home of over 20 years in the Spessart mountains to assisted living in Alzenau. Despite living in California, we have had the opportunity to take her out to lunch and dinner several times. We have now visited La Taverna 3 times and every time I was astounded by the quality of the food, the execution, the plating, and the service by the multicultural service team. The portions are huge and the prices are low especially when compared to US prices. We ordered a soup: beef broth with veggies and beef. We got a huge plate of veggies and beef with broth! If I'd eaten all that, I'd have been full. The service members recognized us and even Remembered which wine we liked. Of note also is that the place is in a huge winter garden with multiple plants. It's like eating in a botanical garden.
Das ganze Lokal ist ein großer Wintergarten, daher herrscht hier ganzjährig eine besondere Atmosphäre. Man sitzt sehr angenehm unter den verschiedenen Pflanzen. Das Essen ist eher Durchschnitt. Nicht übel, aber es gibt meiner Meinung nach noch Luft nach oben.Schade, dass die uns empfohlene Flasche Rioja eindeutig zu warm war. Das wäre besser gegangen.
Ich hatte mich mit Geschäftspartnern zum Abendessen im Restaurant La Taverna in Alzenau getroffen, wir hatten eine Vorspeisenplatte für 4 Personen, diese war vorzüglich. Auch der Rest wie die Haupt- und Nachspeisen waren sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder hier her. Kann ich guten Gewissens weiter empfehlen.
