O Marujo - Alvor

We tried this restaurant because the menu looked good and the waiter was pleasant when we stopped for coffee this morning. We weren't disappointed, the home made fish soup was delicious so was the golden bream all served with either potatoes, chips, salad or tasty...vegetables. He recommended local house wines which were very good. Service and food were great. Lots of people were eating the home made burgers so it's not just good for fish. Lovely friendly atmosphere, we will return!

While on holidays last week my family dined here on a recommendation. I had a lovely starter of garlic prawns. My main was steak in mushroom sauce with rice and a side order of boiled potatoes and my wife had chicken in mushroom sauce. Our...son had chicken and chips which he loved. All were delicious. Top notch.

Lovely place, waiter was great we had 2 meals there couldn't have done enough for us, my partner wanted paella the one night it was normally a dish for two but the chef did one specially for him. I had fish both visits so...fresh beautifully cooked. Service was excellent its a shame it's so quiet as it is lovely would definitely recommend it.

Had the lunch menu and it was excellent. it was a lot to live, but never ate in o marujo. I see a review that says they were unorganized, but I would describe it as Portuguese charm. it is a great home that has made eating and the service was in front of place. a real sound and bet it high enough.

We went in here to try someplace new. We had decided on paella but when we went in and spoke to the waitress we ordered cataplana. Great decision! The restaurant was quiet and we were served quickly. We had a delicious rustic garlic bread to...start. The cataplana arrived and was simply delicious. Very fresh and light. The tomato sauce was mouthwatering and the seafood yum!! Everyone was very nice to us and we enjoyed our meal immensely. Would definitely recommend the cataplana and will return!
