Hawkshead Golf In South Haven - Alvin

The food was tasty, but we were disappointed with the scallops appetizer. Paying $18 for only 2 scallops felt overpriced. The overall atmosphere was more casual than expected given the high prices.

We visited the restaurant to celebrate a special occasion and had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Bobby Jones Haven room on the 3rd floor, which had a beautiful view of the golf course. Although our preferred nature view was booked, we will consider it for our future visits. The room was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. We enjoyed room service from the restaurant, and the food was delicious. Even though there was no elevator to the 3rd floor, the quiet location outside of the city suited us perfectly. There were plenty of fun activities to do in South Haven, and we took our bikes to explore Van Buren State Park. We will definitely return in the future. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable!

The Inn at Hawkshead has been excellently managed throughout the pandemic. We have stayed there multiple times in the past 15 years and always leave feeling rejuvenated. The restaurant offered delicious meals, with the sesame-crusted white fish being particularly memorable. The location is fantastic, with easy access to South Saugatuck, and Douglas for art, shopping, and dining experiences. After a day of exploring, we enjoyed returning to the cozy rooms of the Inn and admiring the breathtaking forest views through the large picture windows.
