What Michael Britt doesn't like about Alvin Seafood:
We walked in and almost all the tables were dirty. Finally placed our order after 30 minutes. I got my plate first. Then the appetizer came out. After about 30 minutes my wife’s plate came out. The fried “catfish” (swai was mushy. The fried mushrooms were tough and bitter. The grilled shrimp (when they finally arrived were bland bland. Service was very slow and food wasn’t good. We were in town for the HTX Houston Metro Classic Basketball tournament. I put an order before closing and the service eating was excellent. If I'm back in the area, I'll make sure it's back. The portion size, you can't get the price best. Well done! View all feedback.

read moreAlvin Seafood, a Houston favorite with a varied menu, has received mixed reviews, with some raving about the food and service, while others have complained of subpar dishes and slow service. Multiple reviewers noted a decline in quality under new management, with issues such as missing menu items and lackluster food. Despite the inconsistency, loyal customers appreciate the affordable prices and the variety of options available, with particular praise for their grilled chicken salad and seafood dishes. Overall, Alvin Seafood seems to be a hit-or-miss dining experience.
