Visiting Verdun, the Maginot Line, or just on an adventure to discover France Profond? you MUST eat at try this wonderful restaurant. The food is expertly prepared, the menu is French classic with a modern twist, the prices are reasonable, the service is a dream. And the atmosphere is perfect enhanced by uniquely designed decor and lighting. Don't miss it.
It is a few years back that I reviewed this very pleasant restaurant. The beautiful tranquil location near the canal is still the same, the food and service is still excellent, however the interior of the restaurant appears to be more upscale than on my last visit.The escargots as an appetizer were delicious, so was the foie gras served with fabulous home-made ? bread cubes , the local meat filet had a delicious taste that is missed from almost all big store-bought meat these days. The fish from a local lake in almonds and langoustine coulis was a somewhat less-attractive, color-less dish without a taste of the langoustines, however. In general you can't go wrong here, a true gem, also for the price. Great air-conditioned space, a delight during the unusually hot summer of 2015. The retaurant opens at 7 p.m., reservations are necessary.
We ate here during a boat trip holliday. We felt slightly underdressed when we arrived as we did not expect a succh a classy restaurant right next to the canal. Both the food and service were excellent. A place I recommend to others.
Staying with friends in Grundviller ,who recommended we treated them.!! What an experience for us , we all had the Menu Plaisir but they also brought out, a muse bouche finished off with Petit Fours. We photographed courses took home the menu they tasted as good as they looked. I wish we lived nearer !!!
