The Brass Rail - Alturas
The Brass Rail
Description
This restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences. Diners have lauded the attentive service and delectable food, particularly at private events, where the atmosphere and menu shine. Highlights like the rib steak and lamb stew stand out, alongside a 5-course meal that is praised for its value. Conversely, some have encountered disappointing dishes, subpar ingredients, and unwelcoming service that detracts from the overall vibe. While many commend its family-style dining and generous portions, concerns regarding cleanliness and adherence to cultural authenticity may leave potential patrons hesitating. For a gathering with friends, this spot could still be worth a visit.

This restaurant is a fantastic local spot with a nice bar. I rated the food, service, and atmosphere all 4 out of 5.
I’ve been to a few banquets here. Food is super good, and we had great service. I’ve yet to try the famous lamb stew. Maybe next time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Overall, it is a wonderful spot to gather with friends and family and enjoy a meal together. I particularly liked the 5-course meal with wine. The pricing is fair for the service provided, although I regret choosing the lamb steak over the beef steak. Perhaps lamb is not to my taste. I could have easily cooked a similar meal at home, but then I would have had to clean up afterward. As for accessibility, there is a ramp leading up to the entrance for wheelchair users.
We recently hosted a party at this restaurant and the bartender was incredibly attentive, adding to the overall enjoyment of our evening. The food was delectable and the spacious room easily accommodated all of our guests. We had a fantastic time. The service, quality of food, and atmosphere all received top ratings. Highly recommended dishes include the Steak Fries and Salad at the bar. The price per person ranged between $10 and $20 for dinner.
