A reliable spot for creative 'original' Texas hots, fries, and some truly impressive macaroni and cheese!

I was in Altoona for the night this weekend, staying at a motel, and I was looking for a quick and easy dinner that wasn’t just the usual fast food. I came across Texas Hot Dogs on Google and decided to give it a try. I'm very glad I did! The staff was friendly and efficient. I ordered a hot dog with everything, a burger with everything, an order of hot pepper cheese, and Texas-style mac and cheese. My order was ready in about four minutes, and the food was hot and delicious. It was definitely worth the price (around $12) and filled me up nicely. I highly recommend Texas Hot Dogs, and I’ll be sure to stop by the next time I'm in the area!

I moved from Altoona to State College over 20 years ago, and honestly, there aren't many things I miss about the city. However, Texas Hot Dogs is definitely an exception. They serve the best hot dogs and chili sauce, no contest. There were times when my kids and I would take a 45-minute walk just to enjoy a few hot dogs along with chili mac and fries. It's a shame that we don't have a decent hot dog place in my city, but these young ones are worth the journey.
