we found this bar randomly and what an absolute joy it turned out. fabulous atmosphere with a really good jazz singer who runs the bar next to the chef whose eating is excellent. everything really friendly, warm and welcoming and singing was unexpectedly excellent and with chat between and many good humor. a perfect place and a place we will certainly return again and again. What Rijko doesn't like about Tapitas Jazz:
We were turned away asking for simply a coffee and brandy after dinner and literally shown to the door. As a local here I was quite amazed and regretfully will not be heading back here ever again. I think charm school might be appropriate although I think they might be beyond that stage, View all feedback.

We found this bar by accident and what an absolute delight it turned out to be. Fabulous atmosphere with a seriously good jazz singer who runs the bar alongside the chef whose food is superb. All really friendly, warm and welcoming and the singing was unexpectedly excellent and with chat in between and lots of good humour. A perfect place and one that we will certainly be returning to again and again
Small restaurant in c/Salva, Altea. Serves delicious food whilst Maite Cobos sings an eclectic blend of modern and standards jazz...from Ella to Amy. A very talented singer and boy can she sing jazz and replace words with nonsense syllables sorry about this description but TA have said I must re edit to replace the original word which breached their guidelines re profanity) Hearty tapas portions, we had delicious Rocket, pear and cheese and walnuts salad. Avocado and beetroot salad, Vol-au-vent stuffed with crab, prawn and salmon and Grandmas pan- a pan brought to the table of sliced fried potato, chorizo and serrano topped with a fried egg and chunky bread...Rustic and tasty and washed down with a very nice alberino. Bottle of wine, four large tapas and an evening of cool jazz came to 38 euros. Bargain in my book! Live jazz Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and best to book.
Rude welcome! Not at all friendly . Told if you are not eating go to the bar! I understand the rule but not the attitude!!! Ate 3 tapas 2 of which were ok and the third which was prawns.....8....not at all nice. Waited 1 hour! The bill was a shock. Prawns were 12 e... ...for 8 small prawns????? Outrageous!! Other tapers 8 and 9e ...still expensive. Biggest shock was gin and tonic ....7e. I am a g+t drinker and only pay that in upmarket hotels and restaurants. In all fairness the singer was very good . She should have changed her top for a clean one though. If I return I will go th the bar and share a bottle of wine...10e and just enjoy the music.
