My partner and I recently visited Ey Up Duck for my birthday dinner. She had been before, but it was my first time. After waiting for a few minutes, someone came to take our drink orders. A few minutes later, our drinks arrived. An inexperienced waiter handed me a drink and awkwardly stood there without saying anything, telling me that he wasn't sure if it was mine. We both found this very strange. We were then informed that our food would take 45 minutes, which was not ideal but we agreed to wait. An older couple at the table next to us asked if anyone had ordered drinks, as they had been sitting there for a while without being noticed. No one had taken their order. The man went to the bar and waited there for a drink, but eventually they decided to leave. Another inexperienced waiter came to take our food order and asked us what we wanted in a clumsy manner, which we found unprofessional. I ordered a vegan burrito. When the food finally arrived, it was not cut. I had to go to the bar to ask for cutlery and our second round of drinks (another unpleasant experience with an inexperienced waiter). I then had to ask who had taken my order, as it had not been passed on to the bar staff. The drinks finally arrived, but my pint did not taste as I had ordered. The food was tasty, but towards the end of the meal, I discovered what I thought was vegan cheese was actually dairy cheese. The service was incredibly poor. The staff seemed inexperienced and lacked direction. They stood behind the bar chatting instead of providing quality service to customers. I rarely leave anything other than a positive review for a restaurant, but this review is warranted. My partner felt compelled to apologize for choosing this place for my birthday meal, which should not have been necessary. The service was a stark contrast to a meal we had the week before at a curry house in Congleton. I will be cautious in trusting reviews on new accounts solely for the purpose of reviewing this establishment. We will not be returning.
This restaurant has a menu that caters to all dietary needs. The dishes are freshly cooked right before your eyes. The staff is very attentive and the menu offers a great variety of delicious options. Overall, it's a fantastic little spot to dine at.
After waiting for about 45 minutes, our food arrived without our drinks or cutlery. My partner had to ask for them at the bar, only to find out that our order had not even been placed. Despite the service mishaps, my cauliflower katsu was delicious and fresh. Unfortunately, my partner's vegan burrito did not seem to be entirely vegan as they suspected the cheese was not dairy-free. The venue seemed too small to accommodate both events and regular diners. The service was lacking and could use improvement. It was disappointing to see four employees chatting behind the bar while customers waited to be served. With more experienced waitstaff, this place could be great, but I don't plan on returning.
If I could give 5 stars, I would. However, I must not give 5 stars if there is no full veg or vegan restaurant. the personal was so inviting and I felt like my lifestyle was not a choir, but rather acclaimed. I will not lie, my partner had a court and asked if it was actually vegan as it was so beautiful. the cook was friendly enough to go through the dish and the products they use. I had a vegan katsu and my partner had the vegan paella. I saw on their menu they even have vegan breakfast options including vegan pancakes. my nephew is milk-free and ice-free, as he has allergies, and she is facing him when he is at an early age. they also do last of vegan coffee and vegan crying. in any case recommend. I love you! ps told them vegans also want desserts. see what they're doing next.
