Villacantal - Alquezar

The food was fairly typical but big portions and good value for money. The service from everyone who worked there was really friendly and attentive and the spot on the terrace overlooking the mountain was lovely.

Alquézar doesn't have a lot of choice for eating. Many of the restaurants offer almost exactly the same menus for an identical price. Bar Villacantal is a more normal Spanish bar though the prices are quite high just because it is in Alquézar. The waiter was very attentive, the olives were very tasty, and all the food was freshly cooked and served quickly. A good place for a light meal.

After having making a hike through the valley we sat down for lunch. The terrace offers a great view of the gorge and is almost entirely in the shade. We ordered chicken wings and a tortilla, which we had to wait a long time for, both to order and to receive. The food is ok, nothing special. For a drink and a view definately worth a visit if you have the patience for it. Dinner- or lunchwise you can probably get better elsewhere.

Que buena elección hicimos para comer en Alquezar. Una taberna tradicional con una terraza con vistas impresionantes. Comimos unas platos de pollo con patatas y ensalada por 13 euros muy buenos. Las bebidas y café baratisimos. El bar estaba a tope pero como tiene tantas mesas, no es complicado sentarse. Favuloso

Comimos en la terraza el menú del día con nuestro perro. Las patas de cerdo fritas con salsa de ajo y perejil estaban increíbles. El tomate riquísimo y muy a gusto en la terraza con maravillosas vistas. Al día siguiente volvimos y pedimos zamburiñas que estaban buenísimas. Gambones a la plancha muy ricos, aunque ponía gambas, cosa que deberían cambiar o avisar, no es lo mismo una cosa que la otra. Unos boquerones fritos que no estaban bien elaborados. Personal amable incluso en un dia de tanto estrés como el puente del Pilar. Muy recomendable y de precio muy bien para el sitio y la calidad.
