Exciting busy ambiance. staple foods like fried chicken are superb!

We had a 6-top early saturday evening. the food was good, the service even better... especially considering there was a wedding party and it was Prom night.. we enjoyed all the entrees. did not try the appetizers. The broccolini was a bit too over-oiled for my preference, but grilled nicely. We tried both the roasted and fried brussels sprouts. not much of a big difference. loved the signature cocktails, and the staff was very knowledgeable about the wine list. The only caution we would offer is on the Kansas city strip steak. It was cooked to the perfect temp that we ordered and it was large enough for our twin 11-year-olds to share and it was very tender. However, it just didn't have much flavor. All the adults tried it and we agreed on this point that it was just blah flavor.. boring.. Also, we thought the Perloo was a bit over-hyped. Not bad, but not the pop we expected. we were thinking it would have a bit more layers of flavor and spicy, but it was mostly just rice trying to be fancy.. other than that, we loved everything and thanks to the staff for giving us a great experience!

My family has had Easter and Mother's Day brunch at SCK since 2019. We've always had an enjoyable experience with no complaints. Yet this year, there was an Easter buffet and we did not receive notice of the change. We were not opposed to the buffet, it was the price. $75, with no notice, even for children over 11 years old, was exorbitant. I was told it was in the reservation, that there would be a buffet, but I reviewed my reservation, emails and notifications, and did not see any messages about an Easter buffet at SCK. We were helped my Management, and I am truly grateful for the excellent customer service. I would highly recommend doing a better job of notifying customers to manage expectations.
