Feedback
Having visited this restaurant on 2 previous occasions and always being very satisfied with the food service, I was completely shocked by today’s events. We popped in for a drink, we were one of 2 tables being occupied. It was very quiet as the weather wasn’t great. We decided to order 1/2 rations of calamari migas €9 €6. It took ages to arrive and I had to leave my family as I had an appointment. An hour or so later I rejoined my family back at our hotel, I was presented with a bill for €54. Obviously as it was so high for 3 drinks I looked at the bill. My husband had ordered another calamari and I realised that we had been charged for 3 full rations. The bill should have been €39. We went back to the restaurant thinking that when I pointed out the mistake, it would be rectified with no fuss. Oh no they tried to tell me that we had ordered full plates there was some confusion as they were busy. I speak Spanish so were not taking any of their nonsense. I assume it was the owner guy sat behind cash register, a girl with false eyelashes the waiter who had taken the order all trying to tell me that it was my problem and not theirs. I can only assume that they were quiet and trying to make their money up somehow but they immediately refunded the money when my husband came in and explained again with a little more vigour. I have heard a lot of stories like this, where people are being over charged so be warned. The food in this restaurant is good, it’s clean it’s reasonably priced but after today I won’t be going again and if you do check your bill.
Four of us sat outside at a table on the beach to enjoy the sea view and the sunshine. We shared a couple of pizzas which were very good, although the service was a little on the slow side especially as it was a very quiet time. Two pizzas with 3 soft drinks and a beer came to Eur25, which by local standards is on the high side, but I think you can expect to pay a little more here as Calabre is in a premium spot. Toilet facilities were good and clean.
