Beautiful evening in casa velha. delicious food, beautifully presented. we had recommended the 4-course tasting menu and a fantastic bottle of Portuguese wine from sommelier. great location on the open terrace. it is not a cheap meal, but really the feeling it was. good value for quality. I hope the Michelin star will come soon.
Casa velha has never disappointed us. not even now. top employees, top service, top food, top wines. what more could a man desire. for us this is the top restaurant from the wider area of quita do lago/algarve.
After one of the best meals of my life in casa velha last september I was very excited to return. Unfortunately, eating was not so good that it was all very dirty and not really michelin level my opinion after. The presentation of the food was still so beautiful. the personal was very attentive and they ensured my celiac diet.
Top class dining experience. A lovely restaurant within the Quinta do Lago estate, in the Algarve. in terms of food quality probably ranking towards the very top. It’s certainly not a cheap option but difficult to surpass as a treat. It’s relatively small inside but...the tables are well spaced and there is a nice ambience in a beautiful environment. In warmer weather you could have drinks on arrival in a lovely courtyard outside. Not for us on this occasion. As a couple, and with friends, we have been at Casa Velha a few times before, but we weren’t sure how busy or how good it would be post lockdown. We both really enjoy fine dining and were agreed that it was as good as ever. I think that to make the best of it, the tasting menus are the best option. We had the “epicure menu” with wine pairing and loved it. Lovely dishes, with many different flavours and the presentation on the plate was excellent. As one would expect in a restaurant of this sort , the service was A1. Friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Loved it and will definitely be back. John M
