This was the first time I went to Trafaria. We took the boat on the Belém pier and had a 15 minutes lovely ride across the Tejo river. This is a traditional and quite old restaurant, serving very good fish and seafood, but also meat. The staff is very friendly. It was a sunny Sunday. Full outside, but with empty tables inside. Easy to find a place.
We enjoy the service and the carapauzinhos com açorda . The view for Tejo river is great! Recommended if you look for a good place to eat in a traditional and not fancy place.
Authentic Portuguese fishfield, unequivocal. in addition, the staff is so friendly! I got sweet (chocos) and a delicious chocolate mousse as dessert
This is an unpretentious but pleasant restaurant in the rather dilapidated town of Trafaria. This can be reached by ferry from Belem and could be a pleasant half-day out from Lisbon. The fixed lunch is a modest 9 euros, including soup, main course of the day(fried whitebait), dessert, coffee and 1/4 litre of house wine. Service is pleasant and reasonably prompt. Recommended
Although it can be cramped, this restaurant clearly caters to a local crowd and has down-to-earth Portuguese food with emphasis on seafood. The grilled (served whole and with head) fish was good and fresh, service was friendly. Do not get there on the late side of lunch hour if you want the incredibly inexpensive pros-ride menu offering: I understand they run out pretty early.
