Of course you can use your smartph... read more We wanted to have fish for lunch. We went into A Nau. First waiter knew only few words in English, there was no english menu. Of course you can use your smartphone to translate but it's so soulless. Moreover translation is not so obvious. Luckily we were served by another man with excellent English. The portions there are huge! Food is fresh and tasty. We had coffee after the meal also the highest quality. really good value for money.

We landed around midday and our local host brought us to a nau (a boat) for our first eating experience. we ordered and shared grilled sardines (sardinhas), cal... read more We landed around midday and our local host brought us to a nau (a boat) for our first eating experience. we ordered and shared grilled sardines (sardinhas), calimari (lulas grelhades) and cuttlefish with ink (espetada lula).. we also order a natalate, a custard...dessert, a carafe wein, a water and a cafe(espresso). the total invoice was euro (tax and tipp included). calimari were completely grilled so that the diner had to remove the swirl column and the innards. as the need, we have left the change as an additional tip. service was excellent. the fresh seafood was carried from the front of the restaurant display into the kitchen in the back. each portion had carrots and some greens in addition to the main dish. we had enough rest that we had for dinner with a little salate that we made home so that the price was very reasonable for diners. all seafood were perfectly prepared and an excellent introduction to portugal. we have this restaurant with the car; have no idea how easy or far it would be with public transport or taxi / uber. then we went two times back to lunch during a day stay back to a nau. obviously a favorit of our host, but also of us. another visit we also tried to the salmon (salmao) and escape (robalo). we loved both and again, took rest to home. the bill for similar amounts of food as before, was euro.
