What a fantastic place! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, thanks to the wonderful staff who made all three of us feel right at home—including our enthusiastic dog. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the mood for a great breakfast. It's definitely dog-friendly, and I can’t emphasize enough how accommodating they are. We’ll definitely be returning soon! Popped in to visit the wagon whilst the sun was shining today. Well worth it. One of the best burgers I've had quality meat, good size, lashings of cheese, onions and sauce. Excellent chips chunky and home cut and cooked. Service was excellent. Got a couple of Cheggs to take home. Will definitely be back here.
5 stars is not enough. The quality of the food was exceptional, especially the 'proper ' bacon. We had a full breakfast, with great portions, and high quality meat. We were amazed at the prices, exceptionally well priced, would happily pay more. Staff were super friendly, especially young Abbie who constantly checked we were alright. Owner Tina was also lovely and we really wish the business well. Will definitely go back for more. Google does not allow 2nd reviews otherwise it would be another 5 star rating. Had hot roast pork baguette with gravy and stuffing, with a side of roast potatoes. It was hot and absolutely delicious, far better than many of the cafes/restaurants I have visited. It tasted very fresh, and the cheesecakes are amazing.
In 2019, my wife and I walked the British mainland coast from Lyme Regis (Dorset) to Lyme Regis. We left on January 1st and arrived home in early October after covering 4500 miles. We carried our own kit. We stopped in Woodys one afternoon in mid April and still talk about our visit now. We had excellent food, but above all, we were treated with unforgettable friendliness and kindness. A truly wonderful place run by lovely people.
Tina did Afternoon Tea for my Sister and Brother in Law’s 50th Wedding Anniversary they sent us some photos it looked lovely and they said it was delicious. Thank you Tina.
My wife and I recently visited Woody’s twice. On our first visit, we were just stopping by to grab a takeaway during some awful weather, expecting to eat in the car. To our surprise, we were offered complimentary access to a small cabin at the back, which was empty. I must say, the food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the cabin was a lovely added touch. We were so impressed that we decided to book another visit for afternoon tea. Once again, the food was excellent, and the service was warm, genuine, and attentive. Whether you're looking for takeaway or a sit-down cafe experience, and whether you prefer savory or sweet, hot or cold food, this place is truly a hidden gem that I can't recommend highly enough. It has definitely made it onto our list of favorite spots in West Cumbria.
