Sweeneys Bar Restaurant - Allerdale

We stumbled upon this restaurant and were impressed by the beautiful ambiance and tasteful decor. Our meal was excellent, starting with a cheese and salad starter, followed by sausage and mashed potatoes, and a burger. The burger was flawless, with a crispy ciabatta roll and flavorful patty. The sausage and mashed potatoes were also delicious, with a savory gravy and perfectly cooked sweet corn. The portion sizes were generous, making the starter unnecessary. Overall, we enjoyed a well-cooked meal at a reasonable price.

The restaurant had a lovely, clean dining area. There was a full-length mirror, but the wall behind the door was also a great spot. The restaurant is conveniently located in the center of Keswick.

Great service, very fast, friendly staff. nice selection on the menu. friend had the pork steak, apple and cheese sauce and it was delicious, I had to steal a bit. I had the Cumberland Piee, from which I have never heard of or seen in other local pubs, it was delicious and came with spicy kartoffels, which were also very nice, only critique is the torte was made with kartoffels made for a lot of kartoffel in the meal. beautiful selection of wine. cozy atmosphere. would definitely return.

We had a couple of drinks in the Cellar Bar which was very comfortable and pleasant. Beers were very good. Dinner upstairs was very good. The seabass special was excellent and the fillet steak pretty good. Service was generally very good even if they looked a little stretched at times.

We stayed at this restaurant for four nights to celebrate our anniversary. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent, with high-quality ingredients, and the young waiter was both professional and friendly. We discovered the bar on the third day, which we wished had been advertised better as it was a hidden gem. The bartender was very friendly and the lunch we had there was of the same excellent quality as breakfast. We will definitely be booking again soon.
