We had a wonderful pre-hike breakfast at Boap Cumberland. The tea was excellent and just what we needed on a grey, windy day. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside on the covered terrace with views to the north overlooking the water. It was a lovely experience watching the boats go by while enjoying our meal. View all feedback.

I decided to check out this tearoom after hearing rave reviews, but unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the hype. The scones were dry and the amount of waste generated was concerning, with everything served in takeaway containers like paper cups, plastic lids, paper plates, wooden cutlery, and plastic pots of cream. There was no recycling options available, everything was being thrown into black sacks. We... View all feedback.
What a wonderful place stopped for coffee and teacake. the staff was very friendly and helpful the eating and coffee great and the vista amazing. it was a beautiful day, but the exterior are very well placed and almost private. it was also. squashed away from winds. a trip to borrowdale for this little gem.
I can't speak much about the food as we only had delicious ice cream at this restaurant, but we will definitely return one day to try more items on the menu.
We visited the Flock in Cafe after my wife fell and bashed her head on a slippery rock. They provided us with huge mugs of tea, some excellent cake, ice for the black eye (from a neighbour) advice about buses to the car park and...paracetamol for the pain. They even had an A and E nurse who looked at the injury, saving us from a hospital visit. They kept an eye on my wife until I returned with the car. Such kind and helpful people and the cake was lovely too. Thank you so much.
Had read reviews about their lamb pasties so after a walk we went there at 2pm to be told no pasties left , only frozen ones which they never offered to cook. Bit disappointing as it was only 2pm. We had the homemade soup which...was delicious with a savoury scone, and my daughter had sweet scones which were great. However like the previous reviewer we were given plastic cups and cutlery , and all were put in black refuse sacks along with waste food. So I don’t believe the staff then go through the bins to recycle. Why not have different bins for recycling or better still china crockery, wash it up and reuse. Far better for the environment. Covid or not , the environment is also important. We did buy the frozen pasties and cooked them later and they were superb.

Overall, it was pricey for the quality of food and service. I would not recommend visiting this place at the moment.
